On Saturday 15th August, 2020 at 1100, there was a gathering at the Exning war memorial  to mark VJ Day and the final end to World War 2.

Rev Canon Mark Haworth, priest in charge of St Martin’s Church, led the prayers.

Major Mike Lovegrove of the Exning Branch of the Royal British Legion and the Terry Wood, Chairman of Exning Parish Council, laid wreaths on behalf of those organisations to honour those who lost their lives in WWII and, particularly on this occasion, the 14 men from the village out of the 25 who are named on the memorial, whose lost lives were lost in the Far East.
